Ingredients for 4 people:
- 2 cloves garlic
- The juice of half a lemon
- 2 tsp anise
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Some parsley leaves
- Black peppercorns
- 16 sardines
- Salt
- Optional:
- Pink pepper
Preparation:
- Peel the garlic cloves. Mix them in a blender with the lemon juice, anise, olive oil and parsley leaves. Add the peppercorns.
- Remove the guts from the sardines. Do not remove the scales.
- Place the sardines in a deep dish and cover them with the sauce from the blender.
- Marinate them for two hours at room temperature.
- Grill the sardines on the No Fat Grill for 3 minutes. Remove the scales. Season with salt flakes and, optionally, with pink pepper.
Tips
- You can use Pastis or Pernod instead of anise. If you don’t like the anise flavour, you can use dry white vermouth.
